What will happen if I print out the same gift certificate?
Question by : What will happen if I print out the same gift certificate?
Let’s say I got a gift certificate e-mail from Radio Shack and if I already used that and I saved the e-mail with printing more copies, how will they know I am not cheating and making duplicates of gift certificates or coupons? In other words, let’s say I got a $ 13.00 off on any item and there was no expiration date and I just got something there

It'll have a bar-code number that'll tell the cashier if its real or not. Also if there is no bar-code then its probably a fake

Well, the cashier will know because of the BAR CODE…
Also, the people at RADIO SHACK are trained to spot the fakes.
They are aware of that. I am sure others have tried it.
Radio Shack sells electronics. That is the single most watched & monitored type of store there is. Too many tweens & teens trying to waltz in with an over-sized backpack, so they can lift as many small electronic items as they can. They have many surveillance cameras. They have an instant response from local Law Enforcement. It’s their aim to make an example out of anyone who tries to rip them off.

This includes fraudulently printing a gift certificate or store coupon.

They have your email address..yes?
-
They have your name, number and address in their system..yes?
-
They have already extended the $ 13.00 coupon..yes?
-
The certificates are numbered and have serial numbers applied. They will KNOW instantly, if this person has already used the coupon.

Radio Shack would view this EXACTLY as if someone had grabbed $ 13.00 from their cash register, or swiped $ 13.00 worth of batteries.

If you have never been arrested before, they’d have Police handcuff you and you would be fingerprinted and your mugshot would be taken. You would be held at the Jail, in a cell, until someone makes bail for you, or released on your own recognizance..but having to show up before the Judge at a future court date. You’d be charged with petty theft. Probably have community service, and a record. This will inhibit future employment and any job or school you apply for would FIND OUT when they run a background check. You may have probation and you would likely have to pay the store fines as well as court costs, and it would cost you about $ 1500.00,
to gain the $ 13.00.
